In our research about urban and rural living we have noticed a difference in appreciation and attitude about living in the city (areas with over 15 000 population) and living in the country (areas with less than 15 000 population). Please, share your experiences and thoughts about living in either or both. Which benefits can you identify for: Urban living:

The city has a strong pull on the surrounding rural communities e.g. government services; arts, musical and theatrical events; museums; sports and social events; shopping plazas; big box stores; employment; colleges and university; tourist attractions; visiting relatives. Which of the above services and attractions would bring you to the city? (List as many as applicable) How long would you stay for one trip on average? Please, give more details about how you combine various activities into one trip.
3. Advertising by big box stores and shopping areas draws many from the country to the city. Which big box stores do you shop at? How many kilometers are they located from your home? How often do you frequent these stores? (More than once a week, weekly, biweekly, monthly, bi-monthly, only for special items, only for social trips with relatives or friends, only for large item purchases, only for large quantity purchases)
4. Indicate what perception you and others in your circles have about big box store shopping. Share a positive and/or a negative experience that you or a family member, a relative, a friend or an acquaintance has had with a big box supplier that surprised you. What information and or perception have you learned from others about big box stores concerning any of the following: store location, product quality, price, delivery service, purchasing on credit, return practices, selections, hiring practices, hourly wages, staff attitudes, advertising on television, flyers, newspaper, radio, country of origin of products, customer service.
5. Communities near larger areas sometimes organize a studio tour, a festival or a similar event to attract visitors from the city to experience what the country has to offer. Have you heard about studio tours? Have you ever participated in such a tour? Please, share your experiences. Do you know others who have participated in such events?
